Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR)

If your consumer unit looks like this, then you would require an EICR

An electrical installation condition report (EICR) will give you a detailed report of the current state of your electrics within your property, it is worthwhile getting an approved electrician to check your installation.

Here at Tarven Electrical we are Private Rental Sector scheme approved meaning we are NICEIC/Government certified to check your property – giving you complete peace of mind!

What’s involved?

An ElCR takes between 3-4 hours depending on property size. We will carry out a thorough inspection of everything from the service head to the end of all circuits, checking everything from fuses sizes to cable integrity to ensure it is in a suitable condition and complies with safety regulations. If we find something that doesn’t comply we will take a picture and issue a free itemised quotation to solve any issues you may have.

How often do I need an EICR?

In a rental property it is a legal requirement from 1st June 2020 that you should have an inspection every 5 years or on change of occupancy.

Otherwise, every 10 years for a normal house.
