Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR)

An electrical installation condition report (EICR) will give you a detailed report of the current condition of the electrics in your property. It is always a good safety measure to get an approved electrician to check your installation.

What’s involved?

An ElCR takes between 3-4 hours, depending on the property size. We will carry out a thorough inspection of everything from the service head to the end of all circuits, checking all aspects of the installation from fuses sizes to cable integrity to ensure it is in proper condition and complies with safety regulations. If we find something that doesn’t comply, we will take a photo and issue a free itemised quotation to solve any issues you may have.

How often do I need an EICR?

In a rental property, it has been a legal requirement since 1st June 2020 that you should have an inspection every 5 years or on change of occupancy.

Otherwise, once every 10 years is sufficient for an owner occupied house.

If your consumer unit looks like this, then you would require an EICR
