How long does it take to set up an EV Charging Station?

How long does it take to set up an EV charging station?

People in the South East are increasingly purchasing electric vehicles in order to live a more environmentally friendly lifestyle. But if you’re one of those people, you’ll know that finding a charging port can be difficult at times. As a result, an increasing number of people are investing in home charging ports – but how long does it take to install one?

The installation

Selecting the type of charger – Prior to installation, you will decide whether you want a standard or fast charge model installed in your home. You can also choose between a tethered charger with a cable and an untethered, universal charger with no cable.

Choosing the best location for the charger – typically in your garage if you have one, but this will depend on your power supply and where you park your electric vehicle.

Positioning and securing the charger – the installer will locate a suitable location before drilling the charging unit into the wall. At this point, they will briefly turn off the power while connecting the charging point to your power supply.

The charger will be demonstrated – the installer will show you how to use the charger, all of its features, and the warning lights.

How much time does it take?

Installing your sustainable electric car charger should only take about 2 hours. However, if there is additional work to be done, it may take longer. For example, if there isn’t a suitable location for the charger and your home’s wiring needs to be extended.

Installing a sustainable charger for your electric vehicle in your home is a simple process that will make your life much easier. So, what are you holding out for?
