How quickly are electric vehicles replacing traditional vehicles?

How quickly are electric vehicles replacing more traditional vehicles?

You may have noticed electric vehicle chargers popping up all over town, which is due to the transition from internal combustion engines to electric. Electric motors have several advantages over petrol or diesel engines, and electric vehicles work faster and with more power. Electric motors are more environmentally friendly and efficient than combustion engines, so the transition from fuel to batteries will be quick!

For decades, the internal combustion engine has ruled the roads, and there are many moving parts that involve producing heat in order to propel the car where it needs to go. Electric engines do not have the same moving parts as internal combustion engines and operate on magnetism. The car is moved by this magnetic force, and the engine is powered by the battery. The change in vehicles on the road isn’t limited to smaller brands; larger brands are promising to switch to producing only electric vehicles by 2035, with the biggest names like Volkswagen and Ford promising that all of their sales will be electric by 2030. It’s not just about the environmental impact.

Many governments around the world have set targets for the sale of electric vehicles, and even more have set targets for the sale of petrol and diesel vehicles. The climate emergency is putting pressure on manufacturers to do better, and the clock is ticking on petrol vehicles, with all of the major brands taking the lead in the fight against climate change. The truth is that by the end of the decade, there will be more electric vehicles on the road than there are today.
